Freight

We have sent furniture all over the country including the South Island, to Australia, and to the Pacific.

These freight prices are a guide only - ask us for a firm quote when ordering. Carriers will offer different rates depending on how busy they are, or if they have another delivery nearby. Any distance off the main route will add a per km cost.

  • Small package (eg chair canvas) $7.90 North Island, $13.20 South Island.
  • Courier to most of greater Auckland (umbrellas with two-piece poles, cushions, replacement canvas) $6.
  • Auckland, in the area bounded by Massey/Titirangi to the west, Albany to the north, Botany to the east and Manukau to the south: $103 inc GST with one man or $125 inc GST with two men. Auckland outside this area, $125 per hour.
  • Hibiscus Coast area, $55 to $103 depending on the size of load.
  • Paihia (not Russell) 6 seater table and 6 chairs $200, to the township.
  • Tauranga/Rotorua 6 seater table and chairs $200
  • Napier/Hastings 6 seater and 6 chairs $220
  • Wellington urban, 6 seater table and 6 chairs $250. As a rough guide, a swingseat disassembled to 4 bolt-together pieces, no canopy, is around $160.
  • New Plymouth 6 seater table and 6 chairs. $200.
  • Christchurch 6 seater and 6 chairs, in town, $400
  • Nelson 6 seater and 6 chairs $440
  • Dunedin 6 seater and 6 chairs $450
  • Queenstown/Invercargill 6 seater and 6 chairs $500

There are ways to cut costs on freight.

If you live in a remote area, do you know someone who lives in town who could take delivery, and you could take it from there? Most firms charge about $1.60 per km each way for distance off the main route. For example, a table and chairs from Silverdale in Auckland to Paihia is around $250, but Auckland to Russell would add $140 to the total as the truck would need to make two ferry crossings.

Can you reassemble? Normally our furniture goes out fully assembled, but volume can be reduced substantially if you are able to reassemble it yourself. For example, a six-seater table made with mortise and tenon joints for the legs would be 2 cubic metres; the same table made with detachable legs would be .65 of a cube.

And of course the cheapest option is to collect in your own wagon, trailer, or truck.
